Welcome to St. Ann’s Catholic Church, a beloved landmark in Hoboken with roots that reach back more than a century. Established in May 1900 by Bishop John J. O’Connor to serve the growing community of Italian immigrants—especially from Monte San Giacomo—St. Ann’s first dedicated a parish to preserving faith, fellowship, and culture in their new American home. Construction of a new church building began with the laying of the cornerstone on November 1, 1925, and the current church was opened December 12, 1927. Over the years, the parish has continued to grow and beautify its space—adding features like bronze chandeliers, a Carrara‑marble statue of Our Lady of Fatima, air conditioning, and more—while earning recognition for its architecture, religious heritage, and role in the Italian‑American identity of Hoboken.
